Bayeux Bowmen Archery Club

Welcome to the homepage of the Bayeux Bowmen Archery Club. We formed in 1993 and are based in Hastings & St Leonards-On-Sea in East Sussex. Club members range across all ages\abilities and shoot using a number of different styles from longbow, barebow, horse bow to compound and recurve.

We are fortunate to have our own field that is situated locally just outside of HastingsĀ  where we have targets set up all year round for practice by club members. The field is marked out and targets can easily be moved to any distance upto 100 yards for the keen archer.

Our weekly club practice evening is Thursday however club members can use the field any day or time of the week with a few exceptions during winter time.

During the winter months we shoot a monthly competition as part of the 'Frostbite' league and during the summer we also shoot in the 'Selby' league.

The club welcomes new members of all ages and abilities. Please click here or on the 'Contact Us' button above for further information.

Beginners Courses are available and details of the next session will be shown here when finalised. Alternatively, click on the 'Have A Go' link above for details on sessions at Horntye Sports Complex. Click here for images of one of the sessions.

ANNOUNCEMENT : It is with great sadness that our founder Terry White passed away on Thursday 16th May.
The Funeral will be at Hastings Crematorium on Tuesday 4th June at 2pm. Terry will be cremated in his Bayeux Bowmen club shirt and Terry's family have asked that if you have Club shirts/sweatshirts they be worn at the service. There will be no wake after the service. The idea is the club will have a barbeque on a Sunday (probably early August) when the family would like to scatter Terry's ashes at the club ground in a novel way. Terry's ashes will initially be shot from a bow (in a small vial). A fitting tribute. (possibly a Jelly bow clout). There has been no decision on a donation to charity yet from The Bayeux Bowmen or Horntye Archery instead of flowers. Details will follow from Colin.
